Jefferson County Museum

MISSION

The mission of the Jefferson County Museum is to collect, preserve, and share the historically and culturally significant heritage pertinent to Jefferson County.

Built in 1898, the Old Red Schoolhouse welcomed its first class in 1899 and served the Clancy community for generations. After the school closed, the building was restored and reopened as the Jefferson County Museum in 2000. The museum exists today thanks to decades of volunteers’ dedication, with special recognition to Sherry Carlson, who has served continuously as a trustee since the museum opened.
