JEFFERSON COUNTY: The Boulder and Whitehall (Jefferson County) Libraries are looking for a permanent part-time Library Clerk for administrative services to the Library Board. Ten to fifteen hours per month at $16.74 per hour. Must have excellent writing, filing and computer skills. Knowledge of proper parliamentary procedure preferred but not required. Jefferson County Solid Waste District – Collection Site Attendant positions. The Jefferson County Solid Waste Department is seeking seasonal/on-call site attendants to cover shifts at the various collection sites for the summer seasons. These positions will assist the public with solid waste, screen for hazardous waste, writes invoices for charges and record data. Must be able to perform manual labor and lift a maximum of 75 pounds routinely. Must be able to work in adverse weather and available for call-outs. Starting salary is $18.83/per hour . JEFFERSON COUNTY: The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder’s Office seeks a qualified person to fill the temporary full-time position of Records Clerk/Election Administrator Assistant for a one year period. This position may, per county policy, become a permanent position after the one year period. This position must be able to work well with the public and must have experience with computers and general office work. Experience working in county government is preferred. Position must be able to work overtime during elections and must be able to carry large bags and boxes weighing 35 lbs. or more. This position will be responsible for assisting with all procedures relating to elections and the conduction of elections in accordance with established procedures and the law. This position will further provide backup for all other functions within the Clerk & Recorder’s office, process documents submitted by the public for recording and/or filing accurately and efficiently, this includes: recording, scanning, computerized and manual indexing of records. Deputy Sheriff Position

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office currently has an opening for one full-time Patrol Deputy. This position will perform general law enforcement duties throughout Jefferson County.  This position will be required to reside within the city of Whitehall, MT or have a 10-minute response time to Whitehall, MT.

Wage starting at $29.85/hr. ($62,085.29 annually) – The deputies union is currently participating in a negotiation process.

Take home vehicle issued

Office issued handgun or deputies can carry a personally owned handgun if preferred

12-hour shifts based off of the ‘Pitman Schedule’ which allows for deputies to have every other weekend off, and no more than 3 shifts in a row.

County funded health insurance with the option of adding additional dependents

Requirements

Experience as a sworn law enforcement officer preferred, but not required.

Must be at least 18 years of age and a citizen of the United States

Possess or be eligible for a Montana Driver’s License with a good driving record

Must be of excellent moral character with no criminal history

Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

A thorough background investigation will be conducted including:

Reference checks

Physical fitness test

Written test (National Police Officer Selection Test)

Structured panel interview

Top applicants may be subject to an additional interview

A medical physical and psychological exam will be required of the top applicant(s) at the expense of Jefferson County.
